• We promote legal empowerment as an essential element of a broader strategy aimed at human and economic development, which should be at the basis of international development cooperation
• We stimulate research and development through a combination of field work by experts and NGO’s, insights from academics in the area of dispute resolution system design, and business ventures.

We focus on development of access to justice solutions that

• Promote self-help and services provided by the local market
• Use the best available technology for conflict resolution
• Use web-technology in order to make norms and processes transparent
• Can be bundled with other services
• Bring neutrality in relationships through cooperative processes.
• Use transparency of norms and procedures as a powerful change agent.

We think BIG, act SMALL, scale-up FAST

• We focus on the replicable character of all products that we initiate or stimulate to develop
• We aim for creation of examples followed by a ‘viral’ process of fast and global distribution
• We promote the use of standardized products that can be used in different countries
• We use open source methods of information exchange
• We use what is available and learn from experiences with similar BOP products
